Equine Influenza: BHA Online health declaration & vaccination check form

BHA refine processes in relation to the current equine influenza requirements, to make things work more smoothly and effectively.

To make the process of completing and submitting paperwork simpler for trainers, and to help speed up the process of checking horses on arrival at racecourses, BHA have developed an online form. This will enable BHA Veterinary team to check the vaccination and health status of horses prior to arrival.

As well as recording details of horses arriving at racecourses to race, the form can also be used for racecourse gallopers and companion horses.

The form enables trainers to submit the following information electronically:

Name of horse
Date of last equine influenza vaccination
Horse’s temperature on departure
(Horses trained outside GB and hunter chasers from non-licensed yards) Date when nasal swab was taken
Where necessary, you will also be able to upload copies of the passport and PCR results.

Once completed, a copy of the form will be emailed back to you, to the address entered on the form. This form should then be either:

Printed out and taken to the racecourse, for presentation to BHA staff
Displayed on a mobile device and shown to BHA staff at the racecourse
Where all information is complete and in order and where timescales permit, the form will have been cleared prior to the horse’s arrival at the racecourse, which should reduce the time needed to check records and reduce the time it takes to unload horses on racedays.

The form is available via the link here, or in the equine influenza section of the BHA website. If you have any problems accessing the form via the link, please reply to this email. If you have any queries about the equine influenza requirements more generally, please contact equine@britishhorseracing.com

Please note that you can continue to follow the existing process if you would prefer not to use the electronic form.
