Who are ARVS?
The Association of Racecourse Veterinary Surgeons (ARVS) aims to promote and safeguard the safety and welfare of horses at race meetings and to provide a forum for discussion and the exchange of ideas on the management of injury and disease on racecourses.
The Association was formed at the inaugural annual general meeting on the 25th of May 1993 at Leicester Racecourse.
This is achieved through the provision of training courses and scientific meetings, advice, communication links and liaison with the British Horseracing Authority [BHA], The Racecourse Association [RCA], The National Trainers Federation [NTF] and other interested parties.
The Annual General Meeting is held in May/June and incorporates the Summer Scientific Meeting.
The Casualty Management Seminars are held in November/December each year.
